Work This Summer at Island Beach State Park: Now Hiring!

In advance of the anticipated surge in visitors during the United States' 250th anniversary festivities this year, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) announced that they are taking applications for over 800 seasonal positions at state parks, forests, and historic sites.

Lifeguards, junior lifeguards, general maintenance staff, visitor service assistants, office assistants, naturalists, and history educators are among the positions that are open. Applications from bilingual candidates are encouraged.

Because park facilities are available seven days a week, seasonal employees must work weekends and holidays. Teachers and students, whose availability may be restricted to weekends during specific times of the year, will be accommodated by New Jersey State Parks.

Lifeguards ($20/hour), junior lifeguards (beginning at age 15, $17.50/hour), general maintenance staff ($16.50/hour), visitor service assistants ($16.50/hour), naturalists ($16.50/hour), and office staff ($16.50/hour) are among the jobs available at Island Beach State Park.
