State Police Seeking Public's Assistance with Assault on a Trooper Investigation

The New Jersey State Police is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault on a trooper in Buena Vista Township, Atlantic County.

On Saturday, January 17, at approximately 5:02 p.m., troopers responded to a trespassing complaint in a wooded area near West Colton Avenue in Buena Vista Township. Based on a preliminary investigation, troopers attempted to approach a group of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) and dirt bike riders on Jackson Road.

As troopers attempted to stop and speak with one ATV operator, the rider—described as a white male operating an orange CFMoto CForce—accelerated in an attempt to flee, striking a trooper’s arm and leg.

The suspect then fled into the wooded area.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, has information regarding the events before, during, or after, or can identify the suspect, is asked to contact the Troop “A” Buena Vista Station at 609-561-1800.
