Fast-Moving Storm Expected to Bring Light Snow to New Jersey Tonight

NJ Weather Update: Coastal Storm Could Deliver Snow This Friday

Fast-Moving Storm Expected to Bring Light Snow to New Jersey Tonight

Much of New Jersey may see dustings of up to half an inch of snow Friday night and early Saturday due to a swift-moving storm.

The National Weather Service reported early Friday that "snow chances have increased for evening, primarily north of I-78." "However, no notable accumulations are anticipated."
It is anticipated that snow showers will begin after midnight on Friday and stop by sunrise on Saturday.

According to the forecast service, the northern half of the state has the best chance of receiving half an inch of snow.

Friday night's lows will be in the mid- to upper teens and low 20s, which is chilly enough for snow to build up on most surfaces that receive moderate snowfall.

Untreated surfaces may become slick, although large snow accumulations are not anticipated.

Friday is predicted to have lower to mid-30 degree daytime temperatures and milder breezes than Thursday. However, the meteorological service stated that gusts of up to 20 mph are still occasionally possible.

The weather will improve on Saturday, with generally clear skies. In northern New Jersey, temperatures are predicted to reach the upper 30s, while in southern New Jersey, they are predicted to reach the mid-40s.

The region's overnight lows on Saturday night will fall below freezing and into the 20s.

With highs in the upper 30s to mid-40s on Sunday, the weather will be milder; however, on Sunday night and Monday, another storm system will move in from the south.

According to the weather service, the estimate "continues to trend towards the consensus of a more southerly track for the Sunday-Monday system, resulting in less impacts for our region."

Rainfall is mostly anticipated around and around the Jersey Shore. Rain and snow may combine to some extent when the precipitation begins.

By Tuesday and Wednesday of next week, highs are expected to increase well into the 40s, and in some places, they may even approach the 50s.

According to the weather service, the warmer trend will aid in removing the obstinate snow cover that has persisted over New Jersey in recent weeks.

As another system passes through the area, there is a chance of rain again from Wednesday through Thursday.

The prolonged stretch of below-normal temperatures is predicted to break this week, and the second part of February will see more seasonable and above-normal conditions. Check the latest forecast.
