On the most recent edition of American Idol, a local police officer left a lasting impression on the judges by winning a Golden Ticket to Hollywood Week.

During Monday night's show, Julia Sienna Santiago, a resident of Freehold and a special officer with the Sea Girt Police Department, dazzled the judges with her performance of Connie Talbot's "I Would."
She even "arrested" judge Luke Bryan with handcuffs before her performance since he was "given too many no's" to other performers.

Santiago will now advance from the American Idol audition stages to Hollywood Week, when competitors face off against other entertainers, after receiving a Golden Ticket.

In an online post after her audition, Santiago said, "I feel more than blessed for this experience and my beautiful family that I got to share this moment with." "Next up is Hollywood Week."

Santiago, 20, has been singing for as long as she can remember and graduated from the Fine & Performing Arts Center at Howell High School.

Growing up in the performing arts community of New Jersey, she went on to participate in the Count Basie Center for the Arts' "Rock It! Academy," earn a Golden Ticket in Downtown Freehold's "Freehold Idol" competition in 2023, complete summer intensives at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, and even receive a nomination for "Outstanding Female Lead in a Musical" at the Basie Awards.

In addition to her career in the performing arts, Santiago works as a local law enforcement officer in Monmouth County.

Despite her passion for singing, she is a college student pursuing a career in law enforcement as a public servant.

She spent eight years in the Marlboro Township Police Cadets program, rising to the rank of Lieutenant before joining the Sea Girt Police Department as a Special I Officer, where she is currently employed.
