Latest Update: Up to 10 Inches of Snow Expected in New Jersey Amid Weather Warnings

As strong winds and heavy snow prepare to hit the state, New Jersey will be under a Winter Storm Watch from Sunday morning to Monday afternoon.

Although there is still some uncertainty in the totals, the most recent forecast shows an increase in snow accumulations. With wind gusts of up to 35 mph causing blizzard conditions, dangerous scenarios could arise.

According to AccuWeather Vice President of Forecasting Operations Dan DePodwin, "it is not out of the question that there could be near-blizzard conditions for a time along the immediate coast Sunday night, especially parts of the Jersey Shore, eastern Long Island, and far southeast New England, including Cape Cod, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard."

Although a widespread 6-inch snowfall has been anticipated, the precise amount is still unknown. Six to ten inches of snow are expected in the region, according to the National Weather Service's New York City office, which covers the counties of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, and Union.

Forecasters warned that the storm might quickly intensify and dump more snow that is expected. Stay up-to-date with the local weather forecast.
