When Will Winter Finally End for Residents of New Jersey?

In New Jersey, where people are still recovering from a massive blizzard that delivered heavy snowfall totals, and freezing temperatures, a new forecast provides optimism for a pleasant spring.

In the midst of forecasts of another snowfall that might impact much of NJ this week yet again, the Old Farmer's Almanac has released its 2026 spring forecast.

But let's look ahead to spring, which starts on Friday, March 20th with the vernal equinox.
According to the Old Farmer's Almanac, April and May in New Jersey will see warmer and drier weather than normal.

According to the Almanac, residents of New Jersey should anticipate temperatures that are warmer than usual, particularly in May (3°F above average).

Additionally, precipitation in April and May is predicted to be below average in the Garden State. Furthermore, there won't be any heavy precipitation predicted.

The majority of the nation is expected to experience warmer-than-normal temperatures, according to the Almanac. In parts of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, and parts of Montana and Colorado, temperatures are predicted to be closer to or below seasonal averages.

Wetter weather are anticipated in the Northern Appalachians, the High Plains, the Upper Midwest, the Intermountain area, Upper Alaska, Texas, and Oklahoma, and most of the country will be drier than usual.
According to the Almanac, it consults meteorology, climatology, and solar science in order to arrive at its predictions using a "unique algorithm."
