Severe Thunderstorms in NJ Could Produce Tornado, Large Hail, and Wind

Forecasters predicted that severe thunderstorms might pass over New Jersey on Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing with them potentially dangerous wind gusts in some areas of the state.

Although the precise timing is unknown, the National Weather Service stated that storms could occur on Wednesday between 3 and 11 p.m.

The NWS reported on Tuesday morning that "a strong cold front approaches Wednesday." "This will depend on the timing, but some severe thunderstorms are possible."
The main worries are quarter-sized hail and wind gusts up to 70 mph that might bring down trees and power lines. There is a small chance of severe weather throughout a large portion of central New Jersey. According to the NWS, there is a smaller, marginal risk in some areas of southern New Jersey.

Before a cold front moves in from the west, the storms are predicted to intensify.

Wednesday will be a warm day with temperatures that could reach 72 degrees, which could be close to record highs. Conditions might worsen if the storms get more organized before they reach New Jersey, according to the NWS

According to the NWS, "high temperatures are predicted to be in the mid to upper 70s for many places, but still much colder along the coast due to a southerly wind off the cold ocean."
There will be a little cooling off when Wednesday's storms pass. Wednesday night is expected to be rainy, with low temperatures of about 57.

Thursday is overcast and chilly, with a high of about 61 degrees, wind gusts of up to 30 mph, and the possibility of showers in the morning.

Thursday has a 70% chance of rain, with the most of it ending by 2:00 p.m. There may be a brief shower on Thursday night before the temperature drops to about 29 degrees overnight.

The weekend appears to be considerably more enjoyable. The majority of Friday will be sunny, with a high of about 49. On Saturday, there will be some sunshine and a high of about 53. Check the future forecast.
