Mother of Three Tragically Killed in Toms River Head-On Collision Identified

Earlier this week, a head-on collision in Toms River claimed the life of a mother of three. Shamirah Nolan, 37, perished in the collision, according to her relatives.

The crash occurred on Sunday, March 8, 2026, shortly after 11 p.m.

According to the Ocean County Prosecutors Office, a Jetta lost control after striking a guardrail and collided head-on with Nolan's vehicle.

The Jetta's driver appeared to be intoxicated, according to the police, who are awaiting test results.
Answers about the investigation of the other driver, who was apparently intoxicated, are being demanded by the family according to NJ.com.

According to a statement released, responding officers at the scene observed that the driver of the Volkswagen appeared to be impaired. As such, in furtherance of the investigation, a court-authorized draw of his blood was taken at the hospital but they have yet to announce more information.

Nolan's family claims that when the collision happened, she was en route to her job at Complete Care at Bey Lea in Toms River.

The bereaved family claims they are still looking for answers because the police have not provided any information in the days following her passing. According to the prosecutor's office, the man's name has not been made public because the accident is still under investigation.
