Popular Breakfast Spot in Ocean County, is Destroyed by Fire

Around 10 p.m. on March 9th, a fire started inside the Grits & Grace restaurant while no one was inside.

When Pies Place employees noticed smoke and flames, they reported the fire.

The most of the damage seems to be in the back of the restaurant, where a sizable hole in the roof over the kitchen was left. This family-run company was popular because of its very inventive breakfast and brunch offerings.

When they saw the damage on Tuesday, a few of the regulars were in shock.

On Tuesday, representatives from the Ocean County Fire Marshall's office were present at the eatery. They will be responsible for identifying the precise cause of the fire.

According to their facebook post they stated, "One thing we know for certain: we will rebuild. No matter how long it takes or how challenging the road ahead may be, we will come back stronger.

Grits & Grace will be back in our home serving smiles and grits again soon."

They also thanked first responders as well as the community for their support since the fire.
