Scott Timothy Sanczyk Obituary

Scott Timothy Sanczyk Obituary With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Scott Timothy Sanczyk of Kinnelon, New Jersey, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Scott left this world on March 28, 2026 at the age of 20, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

Scott Timothy Sanczyk, 20, of Kinnelon, New Jersey, passed away far too soon, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, and friendships that will never be forgotten. Born on September 2, 2005, in Morristown, Scott was the beloved son of Tom and Jackie Sanczyk.

Scott was the youngest of four siblings and a deeply loved brother to Stephanie and her husband Conner Dolan, Steven, and Spencer. He was also the cherished grandson of Diana Ferraro. Scott was predeceased by his grandparents Emily and Alfred Sanczyk and Sal Ferraro. He was surrounded by the love of his extended Sanczyk, Ferraro, Wirsing, and Liebezeit families, all of whom held a special place in his life.

To know Scotty was to instantly have a friend. He truly never left anyone a stranger and had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome. Known as “everyone’s best friend,” Scotty filled every room with laughter, jokes, and playful tricks, sometimes just to entertain himself.

Scott graduated from Kinnelon High School in 2024, where he made his mark both socially and athletically. He was a founding member and captain of the school’s bowling team and proudly bowled a perfect game of 300. After high school, Scott attended Lafayette College before transferring this year to Monmouth University.

Sports were a huge part of Scotty’s life. He was a diehard fan of the New York Jets and Seton Hall Pirates men’s basketball, often sending weekly hype emails to his teachers before Jets games. As a passionate Seton Hall fan, he even called into the Hall Line radio show as “Pablo from Ridgewood,” proudly cheering “Go Hall Ball.” Scotty also had a long-running “phase” as a fan of the Alabama Crimson Tide football that lasted from age five through eighteen, while also rooting for Rutgers Scarlet Knights football. In true Scotty fashion, he once insisted on being both a New England Patriots and Jets fan as a kid, until he learned that wasn’t allowed.

When he wasn’t watching sports, Scotty loved playing them. He enjoyed tennis and was an avid golfer who spent many great days on the course with friends, especially at Hamilton Farm Golf Club and Metedeconk National Golf Club.

Scott was also known among his friends as a fierce and enthusiastic gamer. Whether playing Madden or NHL, he could often be heard passionately shouting through his headset late into the night while competing with friends. In fact, a running high school rumor claimed he bought his car with video game winnings, though the story wasn’t exactly true.

True to his playful nature, Scotty loved harmless mischief, like hacking into the house Sonos system to blast a random song at full volume just to see everyone’s reaction. His humor, energy, and spirit made every gathering brighter.

More than anything, Scotty’s life was defined by the love he shared with his family and the friendships he built everywhere he went. His kindness, loyalty, humor, and ability to connect with anyone he met made his life a true blessing to all who knew him.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate and remember Scotty’s life on April 4 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Our Lady of the Magnificat Church, 2 Miller Road, Kinnelon, New Jersey. The service will reflect Scotty’s warmth, his love for family and friends, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind. In honor of Scotty’s love of sports, those attending are encouraged to wear their favorite sports jersey.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a scholarship fund established in Scotty’s memory. If you would like to donate to the Scott Sanczyk Scholarship Fund, checks can be made payable to Kinnelon Board of Education with Scott Sanczyk Scholarship in the memo line.

Scotty’s life, love, and friendship were gifts to everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
