Fully Involved 3‑Alarm Fire Destroys Multiple Homes in Seaside Heights; Community Rallies Around Displaced Family

SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ — April 4, 2026 A fast‑moving, three‑alarm fire tore through multiple homes in Seaside Heights early Saturday morning, leaving several families displaced and one local household facing a total loss of their home, belongings, and vehicle. Fire crews were dispatched around 3:27–3:30 AM to the area of Sheridan Avenue, where heavy flames were already pushing through multiple structures.

According to fire officials, the blaze rapidly intensified, spreading from one home to neighboring properties in the densely packed beach community. At least three to four homes were destroyed, with additional structures sustaining significant damage. Mutual aid companies from Seaside Park, Lavallette, Point Pleasant Beach, South Toms River, and Toms River responded to assist.

No injuries have been reported. The Ocean County Fire Marshal continues to investigate the cause of the fire.

Residents Lose Everything — Including Their Vehicle

One of the families impacted by the fire has been left with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. According to a GoFundMe created on their behalf, the household lost their home, all personal belongings, and their only vehicle — and they did not have renters insurance.

The fire struck while the family was sleeping, giving them little time to escape. They are now urgently in need of:
