Tragic Loss of Ocean County Township Worker in Car Accident

According to police, a Jackson Township building inspector died on Thursday afternoon after crashing into a tree.

According to a statement from the Jackson Township Police Department, Ronald Miller was on duty and driving a 2013 Jeep Patriot registered to the Jackson Township Building Department south on South Cooksbridge Road when the vehicle veered off the road on the right side for an unspecified reason.

After then, the Jeep struck a number of objects before coming to a rest when it struck a big maple tree.
Miller was already receiving CPR when officers arrived just before 2:00 p.m. Authorities reported that after being taken to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus by a Jackson First Aid Squad member, he was declared deceased.

Anyone who may have seen the collision is requested to call Jackson Township Police Officer Thomas Parise or Sgt. Jeffrey Henba at 732-928-1111. The crash is now being investigated.
