Former Pizza Hut Transforms with Fresh Vision in Ocean County
For over thirty years, thousands of people were served Pizza Hut pizza from the well-known little red hut with the brown roof on Brick Boulevard.
The old restaurant is currently being converted into a location that will provide a different kind of service to the neighborhood.
Recently, locals saw a white paint job on the outside of the former Pizza Hut. The Destiny Community Development Corp. is renovating the property with the intention of converting it into a thrift store.
The organization runs New Beginnings Christian Fellowship at 236 Brick Blvd. and Destiny Community Thrift Shop at 242 Brick Blvd.
The group intends to relocate its thrift shop operations from the existing location to the former Pizza Hut after renovations are finished and all required clearances have been obtained, according to site designs and documents submitted in an application to the Brick Township Planning Board.
In the meantime, the existing thrift store would be transformed into a coffee shop, teen center, and counseling center. Still waiting on hearing dates for the applications to be presented to the planning board and the zoning board. < /big>
