
A 27-year-old Long Branch woman was killed early Sunday morning in a violent, fiery crash on the Garden State Parkway in Tinton Falls, according to the New Jersey State Police.
State Police say troopers responded around 3:59 a.m. to the southbound express lanes near milepost 108, where a Toyota pickup truck had veered off the roadway. The vehicle, driven by Kelvin O. Gomez‑Fuentes, 23, of Long Branch, ran off the left side of the highway, struck a metal storm drain cover, hit multiple trees, overturned, and then burst into flames.
The front-seat passenger, Katherine E. Andrade‑Portillo, 27, of Long Branch, suffered fatal injuries in the crash. No other injuries were reported at the scene.
The crash remains under active investigation by the New Jersey State Police.
