PARADE: Monday, May 25th

The 2026 Ocean County Memorial Day Parade will be held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25th in downtown Toms River. The parade is sponsored by the George P. Vanderveer American Legion Post 129.

The parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Toms River Shopping Center on Route 37, proceeding south on Main Street (Route 166) and then east onto Washington Street.

The parade will feature numerous military vehicles, elected officials, civic groups, first responders, local high school marching bands and a showcase of vintage cars.

Ceremony: The parade route ends at Toms River Town Hall (33 Washington Street), where it concludes with a wreath-laying and remembrance ceremony honoring fallen military personnel.

Road Closures: Main Street will be closed to vehicular traffic from Route 37 to Water Street, and Washington Street will be closed from Main Street to Hooper Avenue.

For further updates, event participation information, or post-parade activities, visit the Toms River Township Calendar or the American Legion Post 129 Facebook page.
Again, after the parade, there will be a ceremony held outside Toms River’s Town Hall at 33 Washington Street. The post-parade ceremony will feature speakers and honored guests, a rifle salute, and the placing of the wreath on the Veteran’s monument.
