From Hogwarts to the Jersey Shore: Daniel Radcliffe Films New Movie in New Jersey
SEASIDE PARK, NJ — Fans at the Jersey Shore got a surprise glimpse of Hollywood Thursday as Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe arrived in Seaside Park to film scenes for a new spy thriller. Local residents captured photos and videos of the actor on set and shared them across social media.
Radcliffe and co-star
Jonathan Groff were filming scenes for Trust The Man, a Vietnam War-era thriller being shot at locations throughout New Jersey.
In the film, Radcliffe plays an Army intelligence officer tasked with investigating the mysterious past of a decorated soldier during the Vietnam War. Production has taken place in several New Jersey communities, including Montclair earlier this summer.
The Seaside Park filming brought the production to the Jersey Shore, giving residents and visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the movie-making process.
Groff, a Tony and Grammy Award-winning actor, is known for his Broadway role as King George in Hamilton in 2020 and for providing the voice of Kristoff in Disney’s Frozen franchise.
Filming for the movie took place at the
Charlroy Motel and surrounding areas in Seaside Park, according to Seaside Park Sgt. Andrew Casole.
A local Facebook group reported that filming continued from late Thursday night into the early morning hours of Friday, with scenes shot at the
Sawmill and along the beach.
One commenter said approximately 200 people lined up at the Sawmill hoping to meet Radcliffe and get his autograph.
