One person has died and two others were hospitalized after a head-on collision Saturday afternoon in Sussex County, authorities said.
The crash happened around 2:15 p.m. on Route 206 in
Andover Township, according to police.
Emergency crews transported two people to Morristown Medical Center for treatment. A third person was taken to Newton Medical Center, where they were later pronounced dead.
Police have not released details about which vehicles the victims were traveling in or confirmed whether the person who died was driving.
According to investigators, one vehicle was traveling north on Route 206 when it crossed over into the opposite lane and struck another vehicle head-on.
The identity of the deceased victim has not been released as authorities work to notify the person’s family.
Andover Township police were assisted by officers from Newton and Byram, along with the New Jersey State Police and New Jersey Park Police.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
