Celebrating K9 Thor: Six Years Strong and Serving Ocean County

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating one of its most dedicated four‑legged heroes today — K9 Thor, who turns six years old and continues to serve our community with loyalty, strength, and heart.

Thor works alongside his handler every day, helping keep Ocean County safe through skilled tracking, detection work, and community outreach. Whether he’s assisting in an investigation or greeting families at public events, Thor has become a beloved member of the Sheriff’s Office and a familiar face across the county.

Sheriff Michael Mastronardy and the entire Ocean County Sheriff’s Office shared warm birthday wishes for Thor, recognizing his commitment and the bond he shares with the team.

“Happy 6th Birthday to K9 Thor! He works hard for our community every day, and today he deserves a little extra recognition — and maybe a few extra treats.”

Residents are invited to join in celebrating Thor’s special day and show appreciation for the K9 Unit that plays such an important role in public safety.
