24-Year-Old Man Killed After Being Struck on Brick Boulevard

BRICK, NJ — A 24-year-old man was killed Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Brick Boulevard, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities had not released the man’s identity or hometown as of Monday.

The crash occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. near the intersection of Brick Boulevard and North Lake Shore Drive, Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

According to the preliminary investigation, the man was attempting to cross Brick Boulevard when he was struck by a Ford Taurus traveling southbound.

The driver continued a short distance before pulling over along Brick Boulevard. Authorities said the driver then returned to the crash scene on foot.

Authorities have not released the driver’s identity.

The investigation is ongoing and involves the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit-Vehicular Homicide Squad, Brick Township Police Department, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office.
