A cooperative investigation undertaken by numerous law enforcement agencies has found that a fire that happened on November 28, 2021, in a vacant structure in Manchester Township, was intentionally ignited, according to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer.
The Manchester Township Police and Fire Departments were called to a complaint of a fire at a vacant structure on Ridgeway Road on November 28, 2021.
After the fire was put out, the Arson Unit of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, the Ocean County Fire Marshal's Office, the Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Manchester Township Detective Bureau were called to the scene to investigate the cause and origin of the fire. The cause of the fire was determined to be incendiary, and the fire was started intentionally, according to the findings of the scene investigation. Investigators believe this was a one-time occurrence with no immediate danger to the local community.
