A child was killed when a minivan driver ran a stop sign and crashed into a tree on Tuesday morning.
Baila Gross, 38, of Lakewood, was driving east on Whitty Road when she failed to stop at the intersection of North Bay Avenue around 9:15 a.m., according to Toms River police spokeswoman Jillian Messina.
One of the vehicle's four occupants, a kid, was transferred to Community Medical Center and died later.
