Staten Island Advance, Staten Island Chuck, also known as Charles G. Hogg, has a better track record than his Pennsylvania counterpart.
Chuck's prediction of an early spring came true in February of 2021. According to the Staten Island Advance, the rodent successfully predicted 10 out of 11 years prior to last year, with the lone miss occurring in 2017.
According to the publication, Chuck has an overall accuracy percentage of 80%.
Phil, on the other hand, has an overall accuracy percentage ranging from 35% to 41%, depending on the data source. According to the Staten Island Advance, the rate has risen to 50% in the last ten years.
