According to police, a Toms River man was hurt after he was flung from his motorcycle during a collision on Fischer Boulevard on Thursday.
Following the incident, Christian Osorio, 20, was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, according to Jillian Messina, a public relations specialist for the Toms River Police Department.
According to Messina, Osorio was riding his motorcycle north on Fischer Boulevard when he collided with the passenger side of a car driven by Joseph Pichirallo, 35, of Toms River, at Hazelwood Road. She stated Pichirallo was going left into the Bellcrest Plaza parking lot at the time.
On impact, Osorio was flung off the motorcycle, according to her.
According to Messina, the preliminary investigation revealed that speed may have played a role in the incident. She added Osorio did not appear to be intoxicated at the time of the incident and was wearing a helmet.
Traffic Safety Officer PJ Gambardella is still investigating the collision, and citations are on the way, she added.
