After his car caused damage to a residence in Toms River, a Jackson Township man was taken to the hospital and charged.
At around 11:25 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2022, police were summoned to Cox Cro Road, at the junction with Old Freehold Road, for a major motor vehicle accident involving a vehicle into a house.
Jose Lopez-Serrano, 23, allegedly drove the vehicle through multiple yards and slammed through many fences before coming to a halt after colliding with a house, according to police.

The Toms River Building Department evaluated the house and found it to be structurally unsafe. Mr. Lopez-Serrano was charged with Failure to Maintain Lane, Reckless Driving, Driving Without a License, Driving with a Suspended License, and Failure to Display an Insurance Card. At this time, additional charges are pending. Terry Warren, of Toms River Traffic Safety, is still investigating the collision.
Lopez-Serrano was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune after the Pleasant Plains Fire Company extricated him from the vehicle due to his significant injuries.
