Alert: Powerful Thunderstorms Approaching NJ
Meteorologist Skyler Day Harman of the News 12 Storm Watch Team predicts that severe weather is possible all day Sunday.
Sunday is steamy and muggy. Low 90s temperatures are predicted, and there may be multiple rounds of thunderstorms. This could happen multiple times during the day. With plenty of heat and humidity revving them up, the most alarming rounds of thunderstroms occur in the late afternoon or early evening.
According to the National Weather Service, Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 3pm. Some of the storms could be severe. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 91. Heat index values as high as 101. Southwest wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
