Another Location of TGI Fridays to Close in Ocean County

Following a wave of closures by the restaurant chain across the US in the past year, another TGI Friday's is closing in Ocean County.

According to WOBM 92.7 and the Asbury Park Press, the Toms River location, located at the Ocean County Mall at 1279 Hooper Ave., is scheduled to close on Thursday, February 27, 2025..

The closure follows the restaurant chain's November Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, which was part of a 2024 wave of closures of underperforming locations.

As recently as 2023, TGI Fridays had 270 restaurants; however, as of November, that number had dropped to roughly 160 due to closures, including a dozen in New Jersey. One of these, the Brick location, closed in May but is still listed as temporarily closed on the TGI Fridays website.
According to Restaurant Business, 30 more locations have closed since November.

Manahawkin is one of the five TGI Fridays that are still open in New Jersey. Visit TGIFridays Website.
