Arrest Made in Connection with Armed Attempted Burglary Suspect in Ocean County. Brick Township police said they are still working to identify two more suspects in the burglaries.

Ahmad Singletary, 24 years old of Newark, NJ

According to Brick Township Police Department, during an attempted house invasion on September 15, 2023, the suspect was found in possession of a firearm, according to Brick Township Chief of Police David Forrester.

In connection with the incident on Royal Dr., Ahmad Singletary, 24, of Newark, New Jersey, has been charged with attempted armed burglary.

The arrest comes as a result of an investigation by the Brick Township Police Department Detective Bureau and detectives from the Ocean County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Investigations Unit.

The investigation was led by Detective Brian Farnkopf, who was able to identify Singletary as a suspect in several other investigations. In total, Singletary was charged with four counts of burglary, one count of theft and one count of theft of a motor vehicle for incidents occurring on September 15, 2023.

Singletary was charged with six counts of burglary and three counts of theft for incidents that occurred on September 17, 2023. Singletary was also charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of theft and one count of theft of a motor vehicle on September 25, 2023.

On Monday, September 25, 2023, Detective Farnkopf issued a warrant for Singletary's arrest, charging him with the September 17, 2023 burglaries and thefts.

Singletary was arrested that same day in Newark, NJ and was in possession of a vehicle stolen in Brick Township earlier that day. The investigation is still ongoing as there are two additional suspects police are attempting to identify.
