The Ocean County Health Department Expanded COVID-19 Testing Due To Increased Demand
At the Ocean County College test facility in Toms River, the Ocean County Health Department is expanding COVID-19 testing to five days a week.
As the omicron variety spreads swiftly throughout the county and state, the expansion is in response to sustained high demand for tests. Testing requirements of those who were traveling or returning to work after the holidays have also contributed to the increased demand.
The following is the testing schedule for the week of January 8th. Testing takes place in OCC's Parking Lot 3.
HOURS
Tuesday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
Wednesday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m
Thursday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m
Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
The schedule is subject to change depending on the weather; on Monday, testing was halted at 2:30 p.m. due to snow.
Because of the current amount of tests, results will take at least 5 days to arrive. All test results will be available solely on the Immediate Care
website and will not be available on
www.ochd.org.Only the PCR tests are available at the OCC location, and they are free of charge with no out-of-pocket costs. Patients are required to wear a mask. It is not necessary to provide insurance information.
