Jackson Police Department Seeking Assistance
The Jackson Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying the culprit in a reported attempted luring incident that occurred near Danielle Court on Pitney Lane.
The shown car drove passed the 13-year-old girl victim, who was walking on Pitney Lane near Danielle Court, at around 12:28 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, 2021, and the driver shouted something to her. After the vehicle slowed down, the victim used her cellphone to video capture the vehicle.
The car started backing up towards the victim. The vehicle's driver and lone occupant stated "Are you cold? I can give you a ride. Get in my car." The victim then dashed to the nearest Danielle Court home. On Pitney Lane, the suspects car headed east on Veterans Highway.
The motorist was described as a forty-year-old Hispanic man with short brown hair and a dark-colored t-shirt by the victim. At this time, no further information is available.
The vehicle seems to be a white GMC Yukon XL from 2007 to 2014. It appears to have a VLP61C registration from New Jersey, however the registration is not on file. A large number of registration combinations were also found to be negative. The vehicle appears to be missing its rear window wiper and has what appear to be black painted 6 spoke wheels.
If you have any information about this car or its driver, please contact Detective Dominic Manion at 732-833-3016 or Jackson Police Dispatch at 732-928-1111.
