Attempted Murder: Teen Charged After Shooting Bicyclist in Toms River Neighborhood

According to Toms River Police Department, a teen has been charged with attempted murder after they say he fired at a man on a bicycle Tuesday through a neighborhood off of Whitesville Road.

Around 4:05 p.m., reports of gunfire prompted Toms River police to respond to the Friendly Village community, which is located off Whitesville Road and Route 70, according to Lt. Gene Bachonski.

According to Bachonski, the victim reported to the police that the teenager had shot him when he was in the area riding his bicycle on Camino Medio.

He said, "There were multiple rounds fired." while the biker was unharmed, several of the bullets did damage nearby homes, according to Bachonski.

Authorities are looking for someone who can identify the person wearing black clothing and the silver automobile seen in a photo taken at the scene.

Toms River Shooting

The juvenile suspect in the white t-shirt has been identified and juvenile complaints were approved and signed for Attempted Murder and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
