On Friday, 10/29/21, the club made famous by MTV's "Jersey Shore" was bulldozed, making way for a new condo and retail development.
According to NJ.com, the building on the Boulevard was put up for sale in 2019 after its owner went bankrupt. For Mayor Tony Vaz of Seaside Heights, the end could not come quickly enough because of the unwanted attention that the violence and drinking brought with them.
According to Rudy Daunno III, president of Daunno Realty Services and the project's broker, the renowned Boulevard nightclub, which could hold up to 3,450 partygoers in its heyday, would make way for 48 for-sale residential units and two retail spaces on the first level.
The Bamboo building was purchased after it went up for sale last year. In 2019, the parent company of The Bamboo Bar and Karma, a second Seaside Heights club, declared bankruptcy.
"It's an amazing endeavor," Daunno said. "I grew up going to Seaside in the summers, so seeing the town restored to its former glory is fantastic." "They've spent a lot of money on these seaside structures to entice people back to Seaside." The Boulevard development, I believe, is the next step in that process."
The Bamboo will be replaced by four levels of luxury condo units, with stores along the Boulevard's ground floor.
The rebuilt structure, according to Duanno, will pay homag.
