Gary and Lorraine Parker's bodies were discovered Tuesday in a highly wooded area near their house, according to authorities.
Authorities said the bodies of a township couple who had been missing for two weeks were discovered in a densely part of woods near the couple's Warren Grove home.
The Stafford Township Police Department announced in a statement on the tragic discovery that foul play is not suspected in the deaths of Lorraine Parker, 60, and Gary Parker, 67. According to authorities, autopsies will be performed later this week.
At 1 p.m. Tuesday, a Stafford police drone discovered the couple's corpses.
Shortly after that, a small army of law enforcement personnel in roughly a dozen law enforcement vehicles arrived on the secluded Cedar Bridge Road residence.
Detectives from the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Sheriff's Department, as well as Stafford police, were on the scene.
The couple's ATV was discovered near their home last week, with a shotgun attached to the side. Their daughter asked for prayers and good thoughts on Facebook multiple times.
The pair resides near Routes 72 and 539 in the Pine Barrens. The Pine Barrens are a large region of land in South Jersey that covers about a million acres. Last Tuesday and Wednesday, ground and drone searches were conducted in search of the pair.
In some areas, cellphone reception is poor, and the location can get extremely cold at night.
"Our department sends its condolences to the Parker's family and friends. We would also like to thank all of the assisting agencies, especially the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office, Ocean County Sheriff's Department, New Jersey State Police, and the Warren Grove Fire Company," Stafford police said Tuesday.
