Body Discovered in Frozen Lake in Monmouth County

According to Millstone Township, the remains of an elderly man who had been reported missing was discovered in a frozen lake in a township of Monmouth County on Saturday afternoon. He had gone missing during a walk with his dogs the previous Friday.

According to the NJ State Police, at around 4:46 p.m. on Friday, February 21, troopers were dispatched to Millstone Park following a report of a dog trapped on the icy surface of the lake.

The troopers, in collaboration with the Millstone Fire Department, successfully rescued the dog.
Troopers discovered footprints, including those of dogs, leading to the lake, where they located a jacket and a hat at the water's edge, extending onto the ice and toward a recent break.

According to investigators, 78-year-old Michael Rosen from Millstone had taken his two dogs for a walk and did not come back.

A search conducted on Friday night yielded no results, and operations were halted shortly after midnight due to hazardous water conditions.

The following morning, the search resumed, and Rosen's body was recovered from the partially frozen lake near Red Valley Road.
