After the weekend's consecutive snowstorms, a severe frost has descended upon the Garden State, prompting weather advisories in six counties.

Monmouth, Middlesex, Mercer, Somerset, and Warren counties are under a cold weather advisory for Tuesday from 2 to 10 a.m.

According to the National Weather Service, extremely low temperatures and an arctic airmass are predicted through Wednesday. Wind chills on Tuesday morning will be in the single digits to as low as 15 degrees below zero throughout the region due to Monday night's windy winds.

When spending time outside, officials recommend wearing layers.

According to National Weather Service forecasters, "temperatures late next week will continue to be near or below average with the weather pattern potentially getting more active again." "It's too early to get much more specific than that though." Check the local forecast.
