Car Crashes into Home in Ocean County: Two People Injured

According to Barnegat Police Department, two men were sent to the hospital on Tuesday morning after their car crashed into a residence in the adult community of Seacrest Pines in Barnegat.

According to authorities, the two men—ages 46 and 42—who worked for a nearby landscaping business struck the house at approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to authorities, their car "accelerated unexpectedly" through an intersection and struck the house on Black Bear Drive.

According to the authorities, neither of the men had on a seatbelt at the time. After striking the car's windshield, both suffered cuts to their heads and faces, according to the police. Nevertheless, after the collision, they were both still awake and aware.

Both were transported to hospitals for additional treatment due to the extent of their injuries; one was taken to the Atlantic City Trauma Center and the other to the Jersey Shore Trauma Center "as a precautionary measure," according to police.

The house has very minor structural damage and is still livable, according to the police.

"The Barnegat Township Police Department responded promptly to the scene, coordinating efforts with local emergency services to ensure the safety and well-being of all involved parties," officials stated.

Investigations into the crash are still ongoing.
