Car Slams into New Jersey Home, Sparking a Dangerous Fire
Early on Tuesday, a driver in New Jersey lost control of their pickup truck and crashed into a house, causing both the house and the car to catch fire.
Shortly after five in the morning, the incident took place on Craig Road close to Symmes Drive in Manalapan.
After losing control, the motorist veered off the road, narrowly avoided a utility pole, and collided with the house.
Next-door resident Shawnee Fitch reported that her husband, a retired FDNY paramedic, assisted along with another good samaritan in removing the unconscious driver from his car.
While firefighters fought back the fire, the home's lone occupant was also saved, according to authorities. She was treated sent to the hospital for smoke inhalation. A dog also escaped the residence.
In the meantime, the driver received immediate medical attention and was taken to a nearby hospital. The cause of the accident is still being investigated.
