The Toms River's Shelter Cove
Situated directly across the Toms River from West Point Island and Lavalette, Shelter Cove Park is situated on the eastern bank of the river. There's a nice sandy beach at the park's eastern edge. Nearby are some of Toms River's nicest communities, which have a large number of waterfront residences with exclusive boat slips.
The park's eastern parking lot, which is closest to the shore, is located at
1 Bay Avenue. Along with a playground, there are a few sand volleyball courts and bleachers available for spectators at the beach. Dogs are not permitted on the beach, and there are no lifeguards on duty.
Families and couples who choose to spend the day at
Shelter Cove Park will find many more services at the western parking lot, which is located further from the beach.
The expansive, grassy fields can accommodate soccer goals and a few tiny baseball diamonds. It features multiple public tennis courts that are first-come, first-served, and a sizable children's playground.
