Man from Burlington County struck the bus after running a red light.
According to Toms River police, an Ocean Ride bus driver was hurt on Monday in a collision on Route 37 when another motorist crossed a red light.
According to Jillian Messina, a media relations specialist for the
Toms River Police Department, the Ocean Ride bus was empty when the collision occurred Monday about 3 p.m.
According to Messina, the Ocean Ride bus was traveling north on Fischer Boulevard when it was struck by a car traveling west on Route 37 as it crossed the highway.
The driver, a 17-year-old Marlton kid, did not stop for the red traffic signal, according to the investigation, she added. According to her, the adolescent was given a ticket for disobeying a traffic light.
Cpl. Robert Westfall, a traffic safety officer, is investigating the collision.
