DWI Crash in Ocean County Leaves One Victim Dead

According to Berkeley Township Police Department, a passenger lost their life in a single vehicle collision in Bayville this week in which the driver was suspected of being intoxicated.

The collision happened on the 100 block of Grand Central Parkway at around 12 p.m. on January 20. By the time police arrived, the passenger had been taken out of the vehicle and placed on the front lawn of a house. According to police, the passenger passed away from their wounds after being transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

The driver, Anthony S. Krempel Sr. of Beachwood, was suspected by the police of being intoxicated. After being brought to Community Medical Center. Krempel, 37, had a blood warrant obtained.

Krempel received multiple summonses for reckless driving, careless driving, and DWI.

The Berkeley Township Traffic Safety Unit is still investigating this matter.
