Elderly Woman in Critical Condition After Manchester Township Collision

According to Manchester Police Department, an 89-year-old woman was gravely hurt in an automobile accident on Friday night in Manchester Township.

Around 5:33 p.m., officers arrived to the scene at School House Road and Route 530.

Gloria Smith is said to have struck a Ford Mustang heading west on Route 35 while making a left turn at an intersection.

For treatment, she was sent to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in a hurry.

Police said the 18-year-old driver of the Ford was unharmed.

After the crash, the road was closed for many hours.

The event is still being investigated, according to the authorities. Nonetheless, it seems that failing to surrender the right of way at an intersection is a contributing factor.
