Evacuation of School and Church in Ocean County Due to Reports of Explosive Device
5/12/25- According to Jackson Township Police Department, St. Aloysius Roman Catholic Church and its school were evacuated on Monday morning due to a report of an explosive device.
About 8:45 a.m., Jackson police issued a notice stating that no one had been hurt and are taking precaution until the investigation is over.
As a result, Jackson Police performed a thorough investigation and has yielded negative results for any device.
After a sweep of all campus buildings by multiple K-9 units from Jackson Police and several surrounding agencies, the location has been deemed safe to resume normal activities.
Officers are in the process of breaking down the scene, and students and staff will be returning to the area to start their school day.
