Expect Sunshine and Thunderstorms at the Jersey Shore
If you're heading to the Shore this weekend, it will be hot and humid with a chance of strong thunderstorms. Additionally, forecasters are still keeping an eye on Hurricane Ernesto's probable path.
Though there are clear skies over the beaches, one of the main worries is the possibility of hazardous and dangerous rip currents from the hurricane. Beachgoers are urged to follow the advises: and most importantly never swim in areas without lifeguards.
In addition to the high risk of rip currents and rough surf expected this weekend, areas of minor coastal flooding are forecast in the highlighted areas with the evening to nighttime high tide cycles beginning as early as Saturday, and likely reaching peak levels Sunday and/or Monday.
Do not park your vehicle in flood prone areas and never drive through flooded roads!
