The opening is set for
September 1.
"Fat Patty's is much more than burgers," according to owner Ayush Patel.
According to Patel, "we are a full-service restaurant," one that serves a diverse clientele that includes younger people coming in to watch NFL games on a fall Sunday, older people looking for a peaceful meal, and families coming in for dinner after their kids' sporting event.
The general manager of the restaurant, Brian Smith, stated, "We want to be that place people go three or four times a month, a place where they can meet friends and make new ones."
Sports enthusiasts can watch the games on around 40 televisions, including a 110-inch model, that are mounted on the walls and above the bar.
Additionally, the walkways between the tables are wider, making it easier for parents with strollers and those in wheelchairs. People won't have to clamber through a crowd to reach a table or the bar, creating a more relaxed atmosphere.
For those who prefer to eat dinner, there are numerous tables with chairs and benches, as well as alcoves with tables and curving benches around one end of the restaurant for more private conversation.
The bar area, which has a freeform bar and high-top seating for those who don't want a table but still want to chat and hang out, flows from the main seating space.
To accommodate wheelchair users and those with mobility impairments that make it challenging to clamber onto a high-top seat, the bar has a lower section.
Beyond the bar is a space with a fireplace and leather couches for more casual conversation, as well as a carved wooden table constructed from a big tree slab that has been filled in with glitter-filled resin to form a full rectangle. It is supported by hefty, specially made ironwork legs with various feet, such as a horse's hoof and a bowling ball.
Darts can be played at a higher level with DartSee, an electronic dart game that provides more than just basic score, off the opposite end of the bespoke table.
As is increasingly common, the kitchen is open so that patrons may observe the staff prepare their meals.
In addition to the 16 different burger options on the menu, Patel stated that hand-stretched pizza and other seafood, like mahi bites, will be available. In addition to four cocktails, such as margaritas and palomas, they will have fifteen beers on tap, some of which will come from nearby breweries with whom they have partnered.
The restaurant is situated at the location of the former Mellow Marshmallow at
1111 Route 37 in Toms River.
