Fatal Car Accident in Monmouth: Victim Identified as Manchester Resident

The identity of a woman from Manchester Township who passed away from injuries sustained in a collision in Freehold Township has been revealed.

At 9:38 a.m. on January 7, four cars crashed at the intersection of Monmouth Road and Siloam Road, killing Joanne Fischer, 73, of Whiting, according to the police.
According to her obituary on the Horizon Funeral and Cremation Services website, Fischer had six "cherished grandchildren ... who were a constant source of joy and pride in her life," as well as being a loving wife and mother of three children.

Fischer was seriously injured when police discovered her stuck in one of the cars. According to Freehold Township Detective Lt. Joseph Winowski, she was extricated and flown to a nearby hospital before being declared deceased.

The Freehold Township Police Department Serious Crash Reconstruction Unit and Patrolman William Sabin are conducting the investigation. It is requested that anybody who may have saw the collision give Sabin a call at 732-462-7908.
