Fatal NY Car Crash Results in the Death of Three New Jersey Residents
According to authorities, a flaming tragic collision on the Taconic Parkway in New York State on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 in the afternoon claimed the lives of three New Jersey residents and a high school coach from North Jersey.
The New York State Police reported Thursday that four Monmouth County residents were in a van that crossed lanes at 4:46 p.m., collided with a Honda, crashed, and caught fire.
According to police, Odenis Balladares Martinez, 20, of Neptune, Harrison Mauricio Reyes Rivera, 34, of Long Branch, and Bryan Aguilar Castillo, 45, of Asbury Park, were the three casualties in the Ram ProMaster van. According to the authorities, they were declared deceased at the scene.
According to authorities, Granite Springs, New York resident Rob Violante, the driver of the Honda, was taken to the hospital and subsequently passed away. According to school officials, he was on his way home from work at the time and was a coach at Bergenfield High School in Bergen County.

According to authorities, Yader A. Reyes, 50, of Long Branch, who was the van's driver, survived and is currently in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center.
According to authorities on Thursday, they are still looking into what caused the collision.
