Fatal Crash: Pedestrian Struck and Killed on New Jersey Highway

According to a news release from Galloway Police Department, a 20-year-old woman was killed in an early-morning collision on Monday when she was walking on White Horse Pike.

At approximately five in the morning on June 2, police were called to the intersection of White Horse Pike and Damson Avenue in response to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian, according to authorities.
According to authorities, a 31-year-old Absecon woman was traveling west in a 2009 GMC Sierra. According to the police, the pedestrian was walking in the inner westbound lane when the woman's pickup truck struck her while she was traveling in the inside lane.
The driver was the sole person in the car and was unharmed; the pedestrian was declared deceased at the scene.

Until the next of kin is notified, the pedestrian's identity is being kept secret.

The road has since been reopened to regular traffic after being stopped for around four hours while the scene was being inspected.
