Fatal Motorcycle Accident in Lakewood Involves Toms River Resident

According to Lakewood Police on Tuesday, a Toms River man passed away from injuries sustained after being flung from his motorcycle in a collision in Lakewood on Saturday.

Following severe injuries sustained in the collision on Shorrock Street at Four Seasons Boulevard, Anthony Ferrentino, 33, was transported to Ocean Medical Center in Brick, where he was declared dead, according to Lakewood Capt. Gregory Staffordsmith.

According to Staffordsmith, the crash occurred just before ten in the morning on Saturday. According to Ferrentino, the collision occurred when a 56-year-old Lakewood woman's Dodge Hornet made a left turn while Ferrentino was riding a 2021 Honda Rebel 1100 DCT motorcycle south on Shorrock Street.

According to Staffordsmith, two witnesses who were stopped at the northbound traffic signal on Shorrock Street told police that the motorbike did not stop at the red light.
