Fatal Parkway Crash: State Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward
As detectives continue to look into a tragic car accident that closed parts of the Garden State Parkway in Middletown Township, New Jersey State Police are requesting assistance from the general public.
According to officials, the collision happened in the southbound fast lanes close to milepost 110.8 at around 1:34 p.m. on December 28. A preliminary investigation indicates that a black Toyota 4Runner was heading south when it went off the road to the left, hit a guide rail, overturned, and landed in the northbound express lanes.
While emergency personnel and detectives worked at the area, State Police Troop D troopers responded and temporarily blocked roads in both directions.
Witnesses who may have witnessed the collision or seen the car before it happened are currently being sought after by investigators. In order to help identify the cause of the collision, police are also requesting that drivers who were passing through the area at the time examine dash camera footage.
