Father's Day Weekend Weather: Thunderstorms Expected in NJ

Over the next few days, New Jersey will experience sporadic showers and possibly thunderstorms due to a number of weather systems.

The majority of Thursday will be dry. In the afternoon, a weak cold front moving in from the northwest may cause isolated thunderstorms, especially in northern New Jersey.

Any storms that form could bring heavy rainfall and severe gusts to the area, the National Weather Service advises.
Conditions will remain unstable on Friday, with a stationary front spanning the Mid-Atlantic.

Particularly late in the day and Friday evening, there is a chance of thunderstorms and scattered showers. As humidity and dew points rise into the mid-60s, temperatures will stay in the upper 70s to low 80s.

With recurrent prospects of showers and thunderstorms, the weekend forecast predicts a protracted period of unsteady weather.

Temperatures on Saturday and Monday will mostly be in the low to mid-70s, and precipitation is always a possibility.
As a warm front moves back in from the south, temperatures are predicted to gradually increase again by the following week, possibly reaching the 80s by Wednesday.

Over the next few days, residents could expect sporadic rain and maybe thunderstorm activity.
