Firefighter dead after falling into Delaware River in Camden, New Jersey

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends as of Fireman Howard Bennett as well as the Officers and Members of the Camden Fire Department on this tragic day.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends as of Fireman Howard Bennett as well as the Officers and Members of the Camden Fire Department on this tragic day.

The Camden Fire Department lost one of their own during a routine maintenance call at Wiggins Park Marina. Our hearts go out to the department who did their best to respond when one of their own fell into the Delaware River.

Firefighters are more than first responders, they are our neighbors, our friends, our family. Every call they answer is a step into danger to protect others, and today we mourn someone who gave his life in service to others.

Please keep his loved ones, his fire department family, and all first responders in your thoughts and prayers.

We are grateful for their courage and commitment, and we share in the sorrow of this profound loss.
